Getting to the Bottom of the Ballot is a non-profit, nonpartisan citizen engagement organization dedicated to creating new and meaningful ways to accomplish three goals:
Help communities promote citizen involvement in local issues and elections
Motivate and educate individuals to express their civic voices
Increase overall voter turnout by reaching citizens with varying voting experience
Getting to the Bottom of the Ballot started as a group of citizens from Southwest Minneapolis who were concerned about the perceived low participation in local political processes. Believing that the
necessary tools for increasing such participation were knowledge and confidence, we set out to find new and interesting ways to help people increase what we described as "civic confidence" with regard to local concerns.
